The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in cooperation with the Municipality of Mariveles conducted a Forum on Waste Minimization and Segregation on 18 February 2011 at 1:00 PM at the FAB Board Room, Administration Building, Mariveles, Bataan.
This forum is in fulfillment of the agreement between AFAB and Mariveles Municipality as provided in the Memorandum of Agreement signed last 24 September 2010.

TUP students visit FAB
Food and Apparel students from the Technological University of the Philippines visited the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan last 18 February 2011 as part of their educational exposure programme.
The TUP students visited D.I. Dawn Patrol, Su Style, Incorporated, Universal Weavers, Dong-In Entech K-1, Chun Chiang, Bataan Accessories and Garment Producers Cooperative and MICO.

Mariveles Freeport OKs 5 new firms
MARIVELES, Bataan, Philippines — The Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), headed by Chairman/Administrator Deogracias G. P. Custodio, recently approved the application for registration of five companies as FAB enterprises – a healthy sign of investors’ confidence to the Freeport here.
Custodio named the newly registered companies as Lewisberg Warehousing and Logistics Corp., North Binghamton Solutions Corp., Off-Road Adventure and Classic Automotive Restorers, Inc., Good Sail Trading, Inc., and (5) Greenville River Manufacturing Corp.

AFAB launches Job Clinic
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) conducted its first job clinic last 28 January 2011 at the Boardroom of the AFAB Administration Bldg.
Ninety one (91) students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines attended the seminar. The guest speaker/trainor, Mr. Francis Initorio (AFAB Corporate Affairs Head) presented the following topics: (1) how to write a good resume; (2) how to handle job interviews; and (3) how to dress to impress.

The Department of Labor and Employment introduced its “Labor Standard Compliant Zone” program in an orientation seminar with representatives of FAB Locators last 26 January 2011.

AFAB seeks to strengthen Bataan work pool
The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan, under the leadership of its Chairman/Administrator Deogracias G.P. Custodio recently met with TESDA Bataan and the National College of Science and Technology (NCST) to explore the formulation of programs to strengthen the Bataan work pool to address current and potential job requirements in FAB.
“The challenge right now is to ensure a steady stream of local qualified workers with high productivity levels who can be immediately hired,” said Chairman Custodio. “We are now in the process of developing a system where the work force is in sync with the current and future demands within FAB to guarantee immediate hiring,” he added.

Industrial Engineering students of New Era University (NEU) in Quezon City visited the Freeport Area of Bataan last 17 January 2011 as part of their educational exposure programme.
The NEU students visited S.S. Ventures International Inc., a shoe manufacturing company; Almatech Manufacturing Corp., a company that manufactures aluminum frames for sporting bags; D.I. Dawn Patrol Manufacturing Corp., a bag manufacturing company and; Chun Chiang Ent. Mfg. Co., Inc., a garments manufacturing company.
